Deepak Sharma is a design educator, fashion designer, and researcher with
extensive experience in fashion design, apparel development, industry practice,
and design education. He holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Fashion
Design and has submitted his Ph.D. thesis at Manipal University Jaipur,
focusing on the application of Artificial Intelligence in the Fashion Industry.
 

He has over a decade of combined experience in the fashion industry and
academia. Prior to joining NID, he served as an Assistant Professor at the
National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), where he was involved in
academic teaching across Fashion Design, Textile Design, and Foundation
Studies. He also served as the Course Coordinator for the Textile Design
Department. His academic experience includes teaching positions at FDDI, and
SGT University

His professional design experience includes working with renowned designer
Ritu Beri’s design firm and leading apparel and export organisations, including
Dhruv Globals, VT Apparels, and Pearl Global Industries. During his industry
career, he has worked on fashion collections for platforms such as India Couture
Week and Lakmé Fashion Week, along with projects involving Bollywood
movies, celebrities and other prominent personalities. His experience also
includes design and product development for international and domestic e-
commerce brands, including Nordstrom, Denim & Supply, Myntra, and other
fashion platforms.

His research interests focus on the intersection of fashion, digital design, 3D
technology, and Artificial Intelligence. He has also contributed to research
publications, design innovation, skill-development initiatives, and projects
within the areas of fashion and textiles.
