Our Story

The Resource Centre at the National Institute of Design Haryana forms the cornerstone of the Institute’s academic and research ecosystem. Conceived as a state-of-the-art knowledge hub, the Resource Centre supports teaching, learning, and innovation through a holistic approach to the development and management of human, print, and digital resources. Seamlessly integrating traditional and contemporary formats, it serves as a vibrant intellectual space for the NIDH community.

Enriched with an extensive and carefully curated collection of books, periodicals, and non-book materials sourced from across the globe, the Resource Centre is a true repository of design knowledge. Its diverse range of learning resources is designed to provide high-quality information services, complemented by robust online access and digital facilities for users.

The double-storey library building spread across an area of approximately 1100 square meters, offers a comfortable seating capacity for 100+ users. The fully air-conditioned, computerized, and Wi-Fi-enabled facility provides an inspiring and serene ambience conducive to self-study, research, and collaborative learning. The Resource Centre caters to the academic and research needs of students, faculty members, and staff of the Institute.

The collection comprises both print and digital resources. The print collection includes textbooks, reference and rare books, journals, magazines, periodicals, and Graduation Projects. The digital collection provides access to e-books, e-journals, and a range of online databases, ensuring comprehensive and up-to-date information support.

In addition, the Resource Centre houses the Material Resource Centre on the first floor of the library building. This dedicated space showcases design prototypes and craft documentation developed by students, serving as a valuable reference for learning, research, and creative exploration.
